Dr Andrew Rogers and Rev Dr. Daniel Eshun

Dr Andrew Rogers, Principal Lecturer in Practical Theology and Programme Convener for Ministerial Theology, and Rev Dr. Daniel Eshun, the Whitelands College Chaplain and recognised Anglican Chaplain to the University of Roehampton, have a candid and wide-ranging conversation on the role of theology in achieving inclusivity, cultural assumptions and notions of success on a programme where 85% of their students are of African heritage. Questions raised include what is the attainment gap for those who are teaching and learning? What are the stumbling blocks to attaining to the best of people’s ability? And the importance of challenging any misunderstanding that the attainment gap is about allocating marks that are undeserved.
